Abstract: The homologous RuO2-Ru heterostructure was demonstrated as an efficient tandem catalyst for upgrading ethanol. The adjacent RuO2 and Ru separately serve as aldol condensation/dehydration and dehydrogenation/hydrogenation sites for ethanol conversion.
