Highlights • Subacute thyroiditis is a self-limited, inflammatory thyroid disease which presents with neck pain usually accompanied by systemic symptoms.• Although unrecognized, it may cause a fatal complication (thyroid storm).• We reported a young male presented with thyroid storm, diagnosed as a case of subacute thyroiditis.
