RESULTS: ESRD patients, as compared to controls, presented higher TG and oxLDL/ LDL ratio, and lower TC, LDLc and oxLDL. In ESRD patients, the percentages of verylow-density lipoprotein (VLDL) and of intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL) were higher, while the larger LDL subclasses were lower, as compared to controls. OxLDL correlated positively with TC, TG, LDLc, the percentage of VLDL, intermedium and small LDL, and LDL size; oxLDL/LDL correlated positively with the percentage of small LDL and negatively with the percentage of large LDL.
